Research Facilities

All graduate students have office space, use of computers (including IBM PCs, Macintoshes, Sun Workstations, and campus mainframes).

Other resources within the department include dedicated testing areas, an eye-tracker, experimental software for presentation of auditory and visual stimuli (including 3-D visual stimuli), speech-editing software, and audio and video equipment. Facilities exist within the department for the recording and analysis of event-related brain potentials (ERPs). Access to both structural and functional magnetic resonance imaging and positron emission tomography (PET) facilities is available in the Cognition and Neuroimaging Laboratories (both 1.5 and 3.0 Tesla scanners are located within walking distance at the Arizona Health Sciences Center). In addition, there are two laboratories dedicated to the investigation of infant cognition.
